The advantage of an S2 safe!>
The cabinets in the VFS-series are built with a sturdy steel structure and are approved as S2 anti-theft cabinets in accordance with the European standard EN14450.
This means that they've been tested to withstand certain types of force for a certain amount of time to deter thieves from continues attempts at breaking them up.
You can thus feel much more confident in the anti-theft abilities of S2 safes than you can with other basic anti-theft safe without burglary protection rating. Letting you sleep better at night!
Fire insulated
Although this cabinet has no certified fire protection, it has double cabinet walls with insulation in between. This increase its resistance against external heat so that your items are more likely to survive a fire in the vicinity of the safe than would they be in a non-fire insulated safe.
In contrast to fire protection rated safes however, this kind of fire insulated safes are not designed and tested to maintain their internal temperature below any specific degree during full fire, but only offer a better protection then non-insulated safes.
Nice finish and design
The cabinet finish is very nice with a slightly shiny graphite gray metallic coloured lacquer. In contrast to other S2 safes which are often bigger and heavier, VFS45E is quite small (although more spacious than its smaller sibling VFS10). This makes it very easy to move around, handle, and place in and confined space. Although its small size it has considerable weight which is a good sign for safes in general.
Anchor your cabinet!
At Arkivexperten we always recommend to anchor your cabinet to a floor or wall. This improves the security level immensely!
Most burglaries are of the so-called "smash & grab" - type where the thief might smash a window and thereafter quickly search through drawers and the like for valuables to steal.
By adding an extra layer of protection such as a safe you complicate their burglary a lot. By further anchoring the safe you make it very cumbersome for the thief, which will likely deter them from further work on your safe. Anchoring safes is particularly important when it comes to this kind of small safes. In order to simplify anchoring VFS cabinets are all equipped with pre-drilled holes in their back and bottoms. Bolt kit is also included.
Save yourself from key related problems!
Although the cabinet comes as standard with a key lock and two included keys there is also the possibility to choose electronic code at an additional cost.
There are many advantages with electronic code locks. To give some examples, you don't need to carry any keys around, there is no risk of loosing keys, and you never get tempted to hide keys, which comes with great risk.
If many are suppose to have access to the safe there is a high risk of lost keys, or keys that are in the wrong place when needed.
Lastly code locks stop thieves from searching for keys in the vicinity of the safe (although there is no such keys). This can save you a lot of money by reducing property damage from careless searching for keys.
Accessories
Besides choosing code lock over key lock, there is also some accessories that might be of interest to you. There is e.g. a range of variously sized boxes with small compartments to be found under the main category Accessories (in the A-Z menu, to the left in our webshop), such boxes help you to keep your valuables in order, which might be hard since there is no compartments in the cabinet otherwise.
