Why buy an S2 safe? Extensive protection!

The S2 cabinets is a step up from your regular document safe. Its burglary protection abilities is superior to those of normal anti-theft cabinets och regular document cabinets. In fact the S2 rating is approved for insured storage in most countries around Europe (although not in Sweden, yet), our closest counterpart to S2 safes is the SSF3492 (previously SS3492) security cabinet type. The good thing about most S2 cabinets is that they do not only protect against burglars but are also fire protection rated and tested to protect paper or other items with equal heat tolerance against external temperatures of 1000°C for up to 30, 60 or 120 minutes (300-500°C hotter then in most average building fires). This particular cabinet is tested to protect its contents for a whole 60 minutes which is more then enough since temperatures starts to go down as soon as fire fighters begin their work. Thanks to its great combination of sheer size and double rating S2-FSB1993 is a very worthy investment for all who have any concern for their valuable documents, binders and the like!

Important Note!

S2-FSB1993 comes with code lock as standard. There is however many reasons to consider adding a code lock to your order!
Code locks are great for multiple reasons, not least if many are supposed to use the cabinet! With a code lock you save yourself from tons of key-related issues, such as missing keys, keys in the wrong place when needed, or worse (security-wise) hiding of keys.
Another great thing about code locks is that they will not invite potential thieves to go on a wild hunt for potentially hidden keys in your property. The damage from such activities can render costs that easily surpass that of adding a code lock to your order!

Prepared for anchoring

At Arkivexperten we always recommend our customers to anchor their safes. There are several reasons for doing so. The first is of course that there is little to no risk that burglars decide to take the safes with them if they are anchored. This is however very unlikely with a safe of S2-FSB1993s weight, the other is that it might be easier for burglars to break into the safe if they can move it to some other position. Secondly, it might be easier for thieves to move or tilt the safe to another position for easier breaching. This is again quite unlike with a safe of this size and weight.

Lastly there is the risk of safes tipping over. This is of particular interest for tall safes like this one. Since the doors are very heavy there is a slight risk of tipping when they are widely opened. This risk is of course totalt eliminated with bolting.
Thus it is always wise to bolt safes to a floor or wall. Although it is not a necessity with safes in the size and weight of S2-FSB1993 As most of our safes S2-FSB1993 is prepared for bolt-down through plugged but pre-drilled holes in its floor!
