Why buy an S2 safe? Extensive protection!
The S2 cabinets is a step up from your regular document safe. Its burglary protection abilities is superior to those of normal anti-theft cabinets och regular document cabinets. In fact the S2 rating is approved for insured storage in most countries around Europe (although not in Sweden, yet). Our closest counterpart to S2 safes is the SSF3492 rated (previously SS3492) security cabinet.
One great thing about most S2 cabinets is that they do, besides their great burglar protection, also offer fire protection and are tested to protect paper or equally heat tolerant valuables against external temperatures of 1000°C for up to 30, 60 or 120 minutes (300-500°C hotter then in most average building fires). This particular cabinet is tested to protect its contents for a whole 60 minutes which is more than enough since temperatures starts to go down as soon as fire fighters begin their work. All in all it can be said that S2 safes bring really extensive protection at a very affordable price!
Benefits of a code lock
Another great thing about this particular cabinet is that it is equipped with an electronic keypad code lock powered by regular alkaline batteries. Code locks are great for many reasons. For one, there is of course no need to carry around keys, neither is there any urge to foolishly hide these keys in the vicinity of the safe which unfortunately is fairly commonplace when it comes to key locked safes. With a code lock you are of course also completely relieved of all common key-related issues such as missing keys, misplaced keys or keys that are with the wrong person at the same time. Another added benefit of code locks is that they will not invite potential thieves to go on a wild hunt for hidden keys in your property. The damage from such activities can render costs that easily exceed the extra cost of a S2 safe with code lock instead of key lock. Well worth it!
Enhance the security level even more!
We recommend everyone with an electric code lock to change code / digits 3-5 times a year for the very best durability and safety.
By changing code a few times a year the risk of a functional code getting into wrong hands is minuscule. This will at the same time diminish or completely fend of potential unequal wear of keypad buttons that could otherwise imply which digits that appear to be used in the code.
Prepared for anchoring
At Arkivexperten we always recommend our customers to anchor their safes. There are several reasons for doing so. Firstly, there is little to no risk that burglars decide to take the safes with them. This is is of extra importance with smaller and lighter safes such as this one. Secondly, it is easier for thieves to move or tilt the safe for easier breaching if its loose. Thanks to a predrilled hole in the bottom of the safe and an included bolting kit is easy to fix this and thereby improve the security level tremendously.
Size matters
In contrast to the otherwise popular S2-FSB32, S2-FSB46E_GRA has quite a lot of extra space, especially hight-wise. This allows for a wider range of areas of use for this safe. There is e.g. no problem to store binder with your most important documents and a SLR camera, in addition to those smaller valuables you'd be able to fit into a S2-FSB32.
It is quite likely that you will find more things that you would prefer to keep in your safe than you first thought of, once you have it at home. Therefore it's a good rule of thumb to think "One size larger" than what you first consider. In this particular series of safes S2 - FSB 67 E is the next step up in terms of size.
