Fittings
In the top of the safe is a plastic drawer for smaller items and documents. This drawer is easily removed if one want to fit more space in the safe. There is room for approximately three standard size and thick binders beneath the drawer.
Prepared for bolt-down
Since the cabinet is of a smaller size and weight class it is of extra importance to anchor the safe to the floor or wardrobe bottom. The cabinet is prepared for bolt-down through a temporarily plugged but pre-drilled hole in the bottom of the safe. Bolt kit is provided with the safe as well!
Locking system
Although this cabinet comes with a key lock with its advantages, there is also a similar model EM020 with electronic code lock.
When comparing the key lock with the code lock system there are advantages and disadvantages with both.
With a key lock there is no need for battery changes, although this is easy, and only has to take place about once a year up to every other year depending on how frequently the cabinet is used.
With code locks on the other hand there is no need to deal with common key related problems that come out of carrying keys around and share keys. It is also easier to increase persons with access to the safe with a code lock, since there is only two keys.
At Arkivexperten we tend to recommend code locks over key locks, but especially so if one plan to grant access to the safe to more then one person, since someone always have to carry the keys around.
Hiding of keys is not a secure option at all!
