Why buy an S2 safe? Extensive protection!
The S2 cabinets is a step up from your regular document safe. Its burglary protection abilities is superior to those of normal anti-theft cabinets och regular document cabinets. In fact the S2 rating is approved for insured storage in most countries around Europe (although not in Sweden, yet), our closest counterpart to S2 safes is the SSF3492 (previously SS3492) security cabinet type. The good thing about most S2 cabinets is that they do not only protect against burglars but are also fire protection rated and tested to protect paper or other items with equal heat tolerance against external temperatures of 1000°C for up to 30, 60 or 120 minutes (300-500°C hotter then in most average building fires). This particular cabinet is tested to protect its contents for a whole 60 minutes which is more than enough since temperatures starts to go down as soon as fire fighters begin their work.
All in all it can be said that S2 safes bring really extensive protection at a very affordable price!
Spacious and malleable
Important Note!
By offering quite a lot of space there is also the possibility to store various accessories in the safe. One example is a Data media Fire chest. Such a chest would let you protect your data media and tech items from fire (thus not only paper).
There is also various boxes with small compartments for sorting of jewellery, watches and the like.
Check out accessories under the accessories category, and fire chest under the fire chest category, to the left in the webshop.
Buy fitting your cabinet with specific accessories you can make the safe more attuned to your particular needs!
Code lock included!
In contrast to other cabinets this one comes with an electronic keypad code lock powered by a 9V battery. Code locks are great since they save you from tons of key-related problems. Especially so if many are supposed to have access to the safe.
Another added benefit of code locks is that they will not invite potential thieves to go on a wild hunt for hidden keys in your property. The damage from such activities can render costs that easily exceed the extra cost of a S2 safe with code lock instead of key lock.
Improve security even more!
By changing code and digits occasionally (e.g. 3-5 times a year), you avoid both that unauthorised will get access to a function code and unequal wear of keypad buttons which might otherwise hint about digits used in your code.
Prepared for bolt-down
At Arkivexperten we always recommend to anchor your cabinet. This is especially important with safes of lighter weight such as this one. Since lighter safes are easy to move around there is some risk burglars will attempt to take the safe with them to get more time to breach the safe. If the safe can be moved around, tipped and so on it might also be easier to breach the safe during the burglary. Thanks to a predrilled hole in the bottom of the safe and an included bolting kit is easy to fix this and thereby improve the security level tremendously.
