Why buy an S2 safe? Extensive protection!
S2 cabinets are perfect for those who don't settle for a basic burglar protection but want something extra secure.
Ordinary anti-theft cabinets are good at deterring opportunistic thieves by complicating otherwise swift and easy "smash-and-grab" type of burglaries. S2 safes on the other hand are much more resistant and though to break, making them significantly more likely to deter even the callous and refined thieves out there. In the majority of countries around Europe (although not Sweden, yet), the S2 burglary rating is approved for insured storage by various insurance companies and is comparable with the Swedish SSF3492, approved for 40,000 SEK in Sweden. Many S2 cabinets such as this one also offers fire protection for paper in up to 30, 60 or 120 minutes. This one is tested and approved to protect paper and equally heat tolerant material from destruction for 30 minutes in an external temperatures of 1000°C, 300-500°C more than in an average building fire. In other words the margins are good!
Prepared for bolt-down
Most burglaries are of the so-called "smash & grab" - type where the thief might smash a window and thereafter quickly search through drawers and the like for valuables to steal.
By adding an extra layer of protection such as a safe you complicate their burglary a lot. By further anchoring the safe you make it even more unmanageable, which in the end will likely deter the thief from further work. This is of extra importance with lighter and smaller safes since they are easier to handle and move. Thanks to the pre-drilled hole in its bottom this is easy, especially since the safe is delivered with a bolt-kit.
Code lock instead of key lock!
In contrast to many other safes this one is equipped with an electronic code lock instead key lock. Code locks are great for many reasons, not least since there is not need to share or carry around keys, and there will be no reason to attempt foolish hiding of keys in the vicinity of the safe.
Another perk of code locks is that there is no incentive for a burglar who encounters a code lock to search for keys. This is great since such a search might cause a lot of damage to your property. Lastly there is of course no change of loosing keys which would be detrimental to the security of a safe with a key lock.
