Practical code lock with automatic opening
Code locks are great for several reasons. Firstly since there is no need to carry around keys or worse to try hiding then in the vicinity of the safe, secondly since it simplifies mutal use the safe by several persons, thirdly because there is no risk of loosing keys (which of course means there is a risk of them getting into wrong hands). Instead just set your own 3-6-digit user code and a 6-digit master code, and use it whenever you need to.
As a bonus this safe provides for automatic door opening as soon as you enter your code.
For security reasons the safe can also put itself into standby mode for 5 minutes should anyone try to "guess their way into the safe" by trial and error with various codes.
Thanks to the instructions you will also learn to use the code lock just as easy as you would otherwise use keys.
In case of emergency (say e.g. that you forget to change battery before it runs out, or forget the code), the cabinet comes with two extra emergency keys that overrides the code lock (these are preferable stored on another location than the safe, and of course NEVER inside of the safe!).
Note about the code lock!
By changing code and digits occasionally (e.g. 3-5 times a year) you will increase the level of security immensely. On the one hand by decreasing the risk of unauthorised getting hold of the right code, and on the other hand by avoiding potential unequal wear of the buttons.
With keypad code locks there is always a risk of some unequal wear of the code lock buttons, over longer periods of use.
Such unequal wear may give the thieves and other unauthorised some clues to which digits you include in your code.
Therefore, we recommend that everyone who purchases cabinets with electronic code locks change codes / numbers at least 3-5 times a year.
Prepared for mounting
A good way to enhance the burglary protection of safes in lower weight classes are to bolt them to a floor or wall. This prevents audacious thieves from carrying them away.
Mounting is easily done with help of the pre-drilled holes in this cabinet's back and/or bottom. Bolts are provided with the cabinet.
