S1 steel shelving, built to your dimensions

S1 steel shelving, built to your dimensions

Shelving assembled from parts, not bought as a package. S1 goes together from end frames and shelves, so the width, height and depth are decided by the room and not by what happens to be in stock.

Know your measurements? Work the shelving out below. The configurator gives you the number of bays, the shelves, and a complete parts list with current prices that goes straight into the basket.

🔧 Configure your S1 shelving

iTotal depth = chosen measurement + 10 mm. The frames sit 10 mm outside the shelves.
iEnter the floor space available. The actual width including frames and gaps is shown after calculation.
iEnter the maximum height for the run. The nearest available frame height below that is chosen automatically (1972 / 2236 / 2500 / 3028 mm).
iNumber of shelf levels per bay. Syncs with clear height. The headroom above the top shelf is never allowed below 200 mm.
iClear space between the top of one shelf and the underside of the next. Rounded up to the nearest 33 mm step. Syncs automatically with the number of shelves.
iWith heavy load selected, bay width is limited to 1050 mm. Load capacity varies with shelf length: 280 kg at 600 mm down to 120 kg at 1650 mm. Choose heavy load to stay within a safe margin.
iEvery bay gets exactly the same width. Picks the shelf length that uses the available width best with an even number of bays.

What S1 is, and why it is built this way

S1 is a strong, flexible steel shelving system for warehouses, archives, workshops, garages and stockrooms. It is made for anyone who wants long service life and the option to change the shelving when the need changes.

The system assembles with no tools at all. It goes up quickly, often with one person, and it comes down and goes back up just as easily when you move.

Every metal component is galvanised, which gives a hard-wearing surface that does not show dirt or fingerprints. It is also why the shelving copes with spaces that are not heated the way an office is.

Dimensions, pitch and load

Shelves can be positioned in steps of 33 millimetres, which in practice means you put them where the contents need them rather than in predetermined positions.

Load capacity is 120 to 250 kg per shelf depending on length - a short shelf carries more than a long one. The configurator allows for this when you tick Heavy load, and limits the bay width accordingly.

End frame heights are 1972, 2236, 2500 and 3028 mm. Shelves come in lengths up to 1650 mm and depths from 320 to 700 mm.

Extend it later

What separates a component system from a finished shelf unit is that it does not run out. One more bay needs one end frame and a few shelves, not a new shelving unit.

A free-standing run needs two end frames. Built in a row, each additional bay needs one more frame - four frames give three bays. The configurator works this out for you, but it is worth knowing when you plan.

Accessories and fittings

Dividers, plastic bins, spigots, pull-out drawers, shelf edge strips and clips are all available for the system. They are gathered under accessories and tools.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, get in touch - the range is wider than what is shown there.

S1 is made in Italy and is not sold on lowest price but on quality, flexibility and long service life. It is a system for anyone who wants to build it right from the start and be able to extend it afterwards.
