Fire-Insulated Chemical Cabinet with Ventilation
Swedish-made chemical cabinet tested according to SP method 2369, class 1
A robust and ventilated chemical cabinet manufactured in Sweden by JiWa Inredningar. The cabinet is tested by RISE (formerly SP) according to SP method 2369, class 1 with good fire-insulating capability and through-ventilation. Suitable for storing smaller quantities of chemicals, including flammable liquids up to approximately 500 liters per fire compartment, where an EN 14470-1 classified fire cabinet is not required.
Internal Equipment
- 5 x adjustable shelves with upturned edges and sealed corners to prevent runoff in case of spills
- Shelves can be positioned at 60 mm intervals
- Optional: bottom tray (collection volume 44 liters) for storing larger containers
Ventilation
- Integrated ventilation duct along the left inner side with extraction points at each shelf level
- Exhaust air connection on the roof, Ø 100 mm, left rear corner
- Recommended air flow: 60 m³/h (pressure drop 27 Pa, of which approximately 6 Pa is in the cabinet)
- Tested by the Technical Research Institute of Sweden to ensure no vapor leakage occurs during operation
Construction and Locking
- The entire cabinet is made of heavy-duty steel plate with a sandwich construction
- Insulation in walls, roof, bottom, and doors made of fire-insulating material according to Euroclass A1
- Recessed doors with reinforcement profile, welded bar on the hinge side for increased burglary protection
- Handle with a breaking point for increased safety
- Espagnolette lock with cylinder lock from ASSA, two keys included
- Can be wall-mounted (delivered without a plinth in that case)
- Removable plinth front for easy access and cleaning
Application and Limitations
- Suitable for general chemical storage in laboratories, workshops, and industries
- Recommended for storing less than 500 liters of flammable goods with a flashpoint ≤ 30 °C per fire compartment
- Not intended for gas cylinders, acids, or strong bases, and not as a substitute for EN 14470-1 where higher fire requirements apply
- Containment must be able to collect at least 10% of the total stored volume, but always the volume of the largest container
- Do not place in an escape route. Connect exhaust air according to the property owner's and fire protection description's instructions
- Packaging must be correctly labeled according to CLP. The user is responsible for a risk assessment according to AFS 2022:4 and AFS 2014:43
