How secure does the server cabinet need to be?

Security cabinets rated to SSF 3492 are tested and rated against burglary and suit servers holding business-critical data. Choose them in the Burglary rating filter. Ask your insurer what protection is required.

A lockable sheet metal cabinet keeps unauthorised people away from the server and is often enough in an office.

Does the server need cooling?

A server in a closed cabinet gets warm. The larger server cabinets have thermostat-controlled fans that start when the temperature rises, and some have dust filters. Fans and ventilation are listed on the product page.

Power sockets inside the cabinet let the server and network equipment be connected without running cables through the door.

Small server cabinet or tall cabinet?

A small server cabinet fits under a desk and suits a camera server or a single computer. A tall server cabinet has movable shelves for several units, and some offer rack mounting as an option.

Measure the space and filter on Outer height in mm, Outer width in mm and Outer depth in mm. Leave room behind the cabinet for cables and air.

Server and PC cabinets for workshops and industry

On a workshop or factory floor the computer and server need protection from dust and dirt. The terminal cabinets have a fan, dust-proof cable entries and a hatch with a pull-out keyboard. Choose them in the Environment filter.

Code or key?

All cabinets have a key lock, and several have a battery-powered electronic code lock or can have one as an option. The Lock system filter shows which.

Start with Burglary rating and Environment, then decide the size with Outer height in mm, Outer width in mm and Outer depth in mm.
