Regulations for Outdoor Gas Storage
According to the general advice of MSBFS 2020:1, the following should be observed for outdoor gas storage:
Non-public operations
1. Up to 60 liters, uninsulated cabinets can be placed against a non-fire-rated facade without a safety distance to openings in the facade.
2. Uninsulated cabinets with 61 to 250 liters can be placed against a facade that offers at least EI30 fire separation, which requires a safety distance
of one meter to openings in the facade*. For a facade that does not meet at least EI30, a safety distance of 3 meters from the building applies.
3. Uninsulated cabinets with 251 to 1200 liters can be placed against a facade that offers at least EI60 fire separation, which requires a safety distance
to openings in the facade* of one meter. For a facade that does not meet at least EI60, a safety distance of 3 meters from the building applies.
Public operations**
1. Up to 60 liters, uninsulated cabinets can be placed against a non-fire-rated facade with a one-meter safety distance to openings in the facade*.
2. 61 to 250 liters, same as Non-public operations above.
3. 251 to 1200 liters, same as Non-public operations above.
*openings in the facade include, for example, openable windows, doors, and ventilation openings.
** public operations means activities to which the general public has access.
Construction and function
- The cabinets can be equipped with accessories such as:
Ramp, straps for cylinder anchoring, and floor heating with connection via fixed installation or a 16A industrial plug.
