Automatic Fire Protection Unit for Small Spaces
This award-winning innovation is an automatic fire protection unit that extinguishes fire before it even starts. It is smaller than a regular marker pen, measuring 98 x 18 x 10 mm, and fits everywhere, making it an excellent preventive fire safety solution. The unit activates automatically at 170°C and fills the space with a patented potassium-based smoke that effectively absorbs heat and breaks the fire's chemical composition.
The causes of fire in small spaces like electrical control panels are numerous, including faulty cables, broken components, incorrect connections, lightning strikes, old wiring, and overloading. This compact fire protection unit offers vital protection against these life-threatening risks.
Application Areas
- Outboard motors (under the cowling)
- Electrical and battery compartments in motorhomes/caravans
- Electrical control panels in flats/villas
- All other smaller spaces where fire may occur
Award-Winning Technology
This technology has won an innovation award in France and was named Best Electrical Innovation 2021 at the Electrical Fair in Stockholm. The technology is used by various insurers and numerous installers, as well as by companies such as Jula, Dafgårds, Pfizer, and Amazon.
Extinguishing Technology Developed for Space Travel
The solid substance in the fire protection unit primarily consists of a potassium compound. Potassium radicals are highly active and interrupt chemical combustion reactions by neutralising hydrogen, oxygen, and hydroxide radicals in the flame. The aerosols consist of very small particles in a gas, resulting in a more effective extinguishing agent than conventional powder. The particles remain suspended for a longer period, contributing to a longer inerting time and better re-ignition protection. Extinguishing efficiency per unit weight is 3-10 times more effective than Halon and CO2.
Simple Installation
Installation is simple: turn off the power, clean the surface, remove the protective film, and attach the unit at the top of the space, ideally with the ports facing downwards. Ensure there is 2-3 cm of clear space in front of the ports for optimal smoke distribution.
