Security rated SS3492 / SSF3492 cabinet for keys
The key cabinet is build out of 4 mm enduring steel plate, and has in contrast to many other similar cabinets been built with a comb locking system instead of a bolt work. This gives the safe a break-in protection along the whole side of its door which is a real obstacle for burglars.
Cabinet fittings
The cabinet comes with multiple accessories:
• 3 pullout key screens with a total of 120 long key hooks for keys and key bundles
• 5 fixed storage boxes on the inside of the door
• 5 fixed hooks on the back of the cabinet
Provided with a practical code lock
One of the best things about this model is that it's already from start equipped with a security rated electronic keypad code lock which is usually an add-on option for additional costs in many other security cabinet models. The cabinet of course comes with a detailed instruction about how to set up your own code, and change the battery in the electronic code lock as well.
Why a battery powered code lock?
There are many advantages with electronic code locks. To give some examples, you don't need to carry any keys around, there is no risk of loosing keys, and you never get tempted to hide keys, which comes with great risk.
The usage of the safe is drastically simplified, especially if several persons are suppose to have access to the cabinet, which might be a problem with a limited number of keys. Only those with a code have access to the cabinet's content, while a key might easily end up in some unauthorised's hand. If someone quits, it is very easy to just change that persons code to something else.
Electronic keypad code lock
Since you do not need to carry the keys with you, or worse will decide to hide them the security is much better with an keypad code lock. Security keys are often quite bulgy and uncomfortable to carry around. On top of this, it is also quite unpractical when many are using the cabinet but only a few have a key, since the keys might often be somewhere else when needed by those without keys. This issue often results in ill-fated hiding of keys somewhere in the vicinity of the cabinet. Many burglars are unfortunately well aware of this practice, which of course means that there is a very high risk they will find your "hidden" keys.
The cabinet can however be ordered with key lock, and two high security keys for those who still wants to go for the key lock option instead.
Prepared for bolt-down
Thanks to 4 pre-drilled holes in the bottom of the safe, and two in its back it is very easy to anchor the safe to a floor and/or wall.
Although the cabinet weighs enough for insurance approval in Sweden without bolt-down (weight >150 kg). We do however still recommend to anchor the safe since this enhances the burglary protection of any safe substantially, and is easily done.
