A summary of the general advice in appendix 1 for a cabinet equivalent to EI 30. Ask the fire and rescue service what applies to your placement.
- Up to 250 litres: The cabinet can stand directly against a wall, regardless of the wall's fire rating and openings in it, in both public and non-public premises.
- 251 to 1,200 litres: EI 30 is not enough to stand against the wall, and a distance of 3 metres to the building applies. Four P45 cylinders are more than 250 litres, so allow for distance or ask the fire and rescue service.
