Protects against intense fire (843 degrees)
The fire chest BBD193 is designed to protect paper and data media against intense fire for 30 minutes and holds items and documents in A4 size or smaller.
Protect important data media
Since we today store our memories on, not only paper photos, but also, or more so, on various digital media (CD/DVDs, USB flash drives, memory cards and hard drives from), a fire chest that protects both paper and data media is a very affordable way to keep them safe from the effects of fire, the worst kind of threat.
Easy to carry and lockable
The fire box is equipped with a handle that makes it easy to carry and carry,
and is lockable with two included keys.
How does it work?
First, the outer plastic casing is burned away. Then the edges melt together so that the contents are completely encapsulated form the fire and smoke.
The filling material in the fire chest walls contains bound water, which starts to evaporate (which consume heat energy) upon heating. It is thus the water molecules' absorption of heat energy that help to keep the inner temperature at acceptable levels, until there is too little bound water left to vaporise, which will take at least 30 min in external temperatures about 850°C. Luckily, such temperatures is usually only reached in the center of the fire, and the center has to move around for fuel, which means that 30 min resistance is a long time in a normal building fire.
